Z prawdziwą satysfakcją gościmy Was w Polsce na XXVI Kongresie Międzynarodowego Stowarzyszenia Krytyków Teatralnych w Warszawie.
Spotykamy się, by przedyskutować problem funkcjonowania „teatru poza teatrem”, a więc, by tropić i zdefiniować w teatrze niekonwencjonalne rozwiązania artystyczne. Teatr w Polsce, dynamiczny i różnorodny, jest dobrym terenem do prześledzenia tych zjawisk. Wśród wielu warto zwrócić uwagę na dwa symptomy: wyraźną dominację inscenizatora na scenie, zaś w dramaturgii – zarówno oryginalnej, jak i w adaptacjach – zdecydowaną przewagę optyki socjologicznej. Co wiąże się w konsekwencji z odwrotem od szeroko pojętej dramaturgii klasycznej. Zapraszając wszystkich na Warszawskie Spotkania Teatralne mamy nadzieję, że zrodzą one u Państwa jeszcze wiele innych refleksji.
Nowatorstwo jest wpisane w teatr jak w każdą dziedzinę sztuki. Istnieje więc także teatr poza teatrem. Ale niech nie umknie naszej uwagi rysujące się niebezpieczeństwo: tendencja do rugowania z teatralnego widowiska… teatru jako takiego.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are very proud to host you in Poland at the XXVI International Association of Theatre Critics in Warsaw.
We are meeting at the congress to discuss the issue of theatre beyond the theatre, to trail and define unconventional artistic solutions in theatre. Dynamic and diverse theatre in Poland is a very good area for observation of these phenomenona. Two symptoms, among many, deserve your attention: the clear domination of the stage arranger and, in dramaturgy (both original and adaptations), the sociological optics prevalence. We hope that the Warsaw Theatre Meetings, that we would like to invite you to, will inspire you with plenty of other reflections on theatre.
Novelty is imprinted in theatre, as it is imprinted in any other type of arts. Therefore, theatre beyond the theatre exists. Nevertheless, the dangerous tendency of superseding theatre itself from the theatre spectacle, should not escape our attention.
